MS DOS Delete vs. RECYCLE BIN

I heard that when you DELETE from your recycle bin, that the data never
leaves your computer.  I fully understand the concept of things never
leaving  your computer, and this is one of the reasons i think my computer
runs slowly.  I very frequently make CDs from MP3s, and in order to do that
I must make the MP3s into WAVs which totals about 700 megs per CD.  Doing
that over and over really fills up a hard drive even though i "delete it."

My question is:  is there a hidden location where the "deleted" files from
the recycle bin go, and if so how can I delete the now hidden files?  I
heard there was a way to do this.

If anybody can offer help, it would greatly be appreciated.

My best regards to all.

Chris

any DOS command like the unix 'script'

okay so maybe it’s an easy question, but i want to get a file containing a
record of everything on the screen just like the unix script command works,
does DOS have such a command? and if so what would i need to type to put it
into a file called screen.txt for example.

cheers.

Menu program

I need a menu program for an old version of DOS, i think its 3.31.  I
remember seeing one a while ago where you just push a number (0-9) or a
designated key to launch a program. Nothing fancy, no mouse support
needed.  Just a plain-jane one. Any suggestions?

TCP Utility

Can anyone direct me to a DOS command-line utility that will check for a
specified open TCP port at a specified IP address?

I don’t particularly need or want a port scanner, just anything with an
output.  Doesn’t matter much; textfile, errorlevel or redirectable
console feedback would do just fine.

There’s probably something very simple out there that will do the job,
but exhaustive searches have failed to turn it up.

DOS system hardware monitor

I am looking for a dos tool that will display all types of hardware
information such as bios date and version, processor speed, memory,
hard drive size, etc… It should be able to run on 286′s up to P3′s.
If anyone knows where I can find a tool even remotely similar please
let me know, thanks.
